The cord joint connects two cords end to end and gives you a length you do not have in your drawer. It is the answer for a sweater body or a large shawl, when even your longest cord falls short.
The piece is brass, threaded at both ends, and screws on exactly like a needle tip. The join stays slim and smooth, so stitches slide over it without catching and without any step to feel.
Mind the thread. M1.8 goes with cords for fine sizes up to 3.25 mm, M2 with those from 3.50 mm up. The two systems do not mix with each other, that is what the Seeknit converter is for.

How is it different from the converter? The converter bridges two systems, M2 to M1.8, so you can use a tip on a cord with a different thread. The joint connects two cords of the same thread so you end up with a longer one.
Can you feel it while knitting? No. The piece is slimmer than the ferrule at the end of the cord, and stitches pass over it without catching.
How many pieces do I get? Two per pack, so you can chain three cords together if you need a really long one.
Does it fit cords from other brands? We would not count on it. The thread belongs to the Seeknit system, and other brands differ in pitch and diameter even when they look alike.
