Seeknit tips in natural bamboo are the classic version of the Japanese interchangeable system. The bamboo keeps its pale colour, simply polished and finished with plant wax, so the surface is smooth yet holds just enough grip to keep your stitches in place when you work with silk or mercerised cotton.
They are made by Kinki Amibari in Japan, the same workshop behind the Koshitsu range. The difference is the treatment. Koshitsu puts Moso bamboo through high pressure and heat, which makes it darker and slicker. The natural range stays warmer to the touch and more forgiving, and many knitters prefer it for exactly that.
The 12.5 cm length is the everyday one: sweater bodies, shawls, anything that sits on a long cord. It screws onto any Seeknit nylon cord with the same thread. M1.8 covers the fine sizes up to 3.25 mm, M2 takes over from 3.50 mm.

How is this different from Koshitsu? Koshitsu is Moso bamboo treated under pressure and heat: darker, harder and slicker. Natural bamboo is paler and has slightly more grip, which helps with slippery yarns. Both use the same cords, so you can mix them freely.
Which cord do I need? Any Seeknit nylon cord with the same thread as the tip. The circumference you get is the cord length plus roughly 25 cm for the pair of tips.
Can I combine M1.8 and M2? Yes, with the Seeknit M2 to M1.8 converter. Without it the threads do not match.
How do I care for them? Keep them dry and away from direct heat, and do not wash them. The wax finish does the rest.
