Pascuali
Pascuali is a German brand with a simple mission: luxury natural yarns made responsibly towards people, animals and the environment. The fibres are sourced directly from selected small farms, and the yarns are spun at mills that also produce for fashion houses such as Brunello Cucinelli and Chanel.
The Pascuali collection at Nara Knits is dedicated to plant fibres and fine blends: ideal for spring and summer, yet versatile enough for projects all year round. They all have generous lengths and textures that get better with wear.
Why Pascuali
- Real traceability: each yarn states where the fibre comes from, where it was spun and where it was dyed. Not vague claims, but information you can check.
- Rare and innovative fibres: from Lyocell made with Icelandic brown seaweed to GOTS certified organic linen dyed with natural pigments.
- Long lengths: 245–250 m per 50 g for Arctic Pearl and Linen Bloom means a sweater often takes only 4–5 balls.
- Kind to sensitive skin: plant fibre yarns are the natural choice for anyone with a wool allergy or dermatitis.

How to choose the right Pascuali yarn
For maximum softness: SOLE. Peruvian Pima cotton with 10% Mongolian cashmere gives a surprisingly gentle texture for a mostly plant based yarn, an excellent alternative if pure wool feels too rough to you.
For a yarn for every season: NEPAL. The organic cotton makes it breathable, the linen adds structure and durability. Cool enough for summer, substantial enough for spring and autumn.
For sensitive skin and light projects: ARCTIC PEARL. The only vegan yarn of its kind: Lyocell made from Icelandic brown seaweed and eucalyptus cellulose, fully biodegradable. It regulates moisture, can be machine washed at 30 °C, and a size 38 sweater takes only about 200 g.
For elegance and drape: LINEN BLOOM. Organic linen from Normandy, built as a very fine chainette instead of a traditional twist, which is why it is much softer than ordinary linen and becomes more supple with every wash. Dyed with natural pigments (indigo, madder, saffron, walnut husks).
All four yarns combine well with each other. For the exact amount of yarn, use the yardage calculator, and to check the shade, order a free sample first.
Frequently asked questions about Pascuali yarns
What is SEACELL and why is it used in Arctic Pearl?
SEACELL is a Lyocell fibre that combines eucalyptus cellulose (81%) with brown seaweed from Iceland (19%). The result is a fully biodegradable and compostable yarn that regulates moisture and body temperature. It is especially suitable for people with a wool allergy or sensitive skin, including dermatitis.
Are Pascuali yarns vegan?
Three of the four are: NEPAL, ARCTIC PEARL and LINEN BLOOM contain only plant fibres. SOLE is the exception, as it contains 10% Mongolian cashmere.
Is the linen in Linen Bloom rough?
No, and that is the reason for its special construction. Linen Bloom is not twisted in the traditional way but made as a very fine chainette, which gives it a softness unusual for linen. It also gets progressively softer with every wash and every wear.
Why do naturally dyed yarns need special care?
Natural pigments (indigo, madder, weld, saffron, walnut husks) are more sensitive than synthetic dyes. Hand wash in cold or lukewarm water (maximum 30 °C) with a gentle, pH neutral detergent, without prolonged soaking or rubbing. Dry flat, away from direct sunlight. For the first wash, keep dark colours separate.
How much Pascuali yarn do I need for a sweater?
It depends a lot on the yarn, because the lengths differ considerably. As a guide: about 350 g of SOLE or NEPAL (7 balls) for size S, but only around 200 g of Arctic Pearl (4 balls) for size 38, thanks to its long length. For the exact figure for your pattern, use the yardage calculator.
